Year 3: The Sheep Pig

by Dick King Smith

Babe the piglet is delighted when he is won at a fair by Farmer Hogget. Back on the farm, Fly the kind-hearted sheep-dog adopts him. Babe wants to do everything Fly can do - he knows he can't be a sheep-dog but could he be the world's very first sheep-pig?

Elliana said: "I liked how Babe the sheep pig never gave up, even when the other animals made fun of him. I like how the owner loved him and how Babe was treated"

Darcy said: "I love the book because Babe is learning how to be a sheep dog and it's okay to be alone and scared.”

3LW really had mixed emotions about the book! It was sad in parts but we loved how courageous Babe was and how, because he's different, never gave up!"
