Year 5: The Fastest Boy in the World

In 5JCS, we are currently reading 'The Fastest Boy in the World' by Elizabeth Laird.

Eleven-year-old Solomon loves to run! The great athletes of the Ethiopian national team are his heroes and he dreams that one day he will be a gold-medal-winning athlete like them, in spite of his ragged shorts and bare feet.

Thomas says: "The book is about a boy who runs fast and he has to run over twenty miles because his Grandpa needs help."

Luc says: "I think the book is really cool and I like how he dreams about running because we also love running and have hopes and dreams."

So far we'd give the book 3 out of 5 because we have only just started so we haven't got to any action yet.
